For managers and landlords who do not use electronic signatures, they may choose to send a lease to tenants if they are unable to meet in person before moving in to sign the lease. If you send a lease by email, some managers may require the notar tenant to sign it. If you sign the lease online using electronic signatures, it`s up to you to read the document and understand everything you agree with. DO NOT treat a lease signature as a “Terms of Use” check box. You should check with your local housing authority for more details about your area, but in general, a change in direction will not break a lease. The management company is simply a service provider acting on behalf of the owner. The same authority (and lease) is transferred to the new management company in actual performance, unless it makes material changes to the terms of the lease.
